Patrol Deputies work 12 hour rotating shifts.  The rotation is every 56 days, and shifts begin at 0600 or 1800.  Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays.  Deputies are sometimes required to work overtime and non-standard hours.

To verify law enforcement experience, you should provide your POST Certification, along with your training certificates.  Make sure you list all agencies that you previously worked for on your application.

Deputy ride-a-longs are approved on a case by case basis for those currently in the law enforcement field.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t have a Reserve Deputy program.

Jail tours are not offered to the public.  Applicants who are selected for testing and potential employment as a Corrections Officer are given a jail tour before taking the written exam and will receive prior notification of the date and time of the tour.
